Our project KnotSeen – Imaging the Topological Defects of Light-Induced Phase Transitions – has been funded by a European Research Council Starting Grant! With 2.5 million euros we will build a state of the art ultrafast XUV beamline for coherent imaging of photoinduced phase transitions and use it to uncover the hidden behaviours of quantum materials when driven through phase transitions, unveiling the mechanisms behind non-equilibrium phases.
